The considered vegetable oils were obtained from different types of oilseeds (rapeseed, sunflower, soybean) and were cultivated under different agronomic scenarios. This paper deals with the technical feasibility of the use of straight vegetable oil (SVO) as gas turbine fuels.įirst, this paper reports the results of the experimental characterization of different vegetable oils, derived from energy crops, and of blends of diesel and vegetable oil in different concentrations (from pure diesel to pure vegetable oil).
KEY WORDS: kinematic viscosity, vegetable oils, artificial neural networks, fatty acid. The Correlation coefficient with an absolute mean error 0, 8. The best neural network to predict the kinematic viscosity was (10:3:1) Logistic Range with CGD algorithm for the second step training. To obtain the model twenty-four neural networks were developed using two topologies and different algorithms for the second training step. To predict the kinematic viscosity was developed a model using artificial neural networks (ANNs). The scope of this thesis is to obtain a physical-mathematical model that establishes a relationship between the kinematic viscosity and the fatty acid composition of different vegetable oils. Taking into account the above exposed facts, as well as the high costs to purchase equipment to measuring kinematic viscosity, the aim of this thesis was defined. On the other hand, it is known that different properties of vegetable oils have a relationship with their fatty acid composition. Higher value of this property affects the engine components wear and engine performance, particularly the atomization in the combustion chamber.
ABSTRACT The kinematic viscosity is one of the most important properties of the vegetable oils using as fuel engine.
